Sunday, July 8th. Leaving Xela.

While we were getting ready to leave the highlands of Xela for the coast, we were outside the hotel eating yogurt and cereal from the tienda (store), and a sweet old man stopped by with flowers in his hand.  We said "hola, buenas", and he proceeded to tell us that he was on the way to the cemetery to put the flowers on his wife's grave.  He explained to us that he has been doing this every Sunday for the 50 years that his wife has passed on.  Just before he left us, he sang a very sweet song.  It was a touching encounter.  Leslie wanted to make sure that I posted this.
